Horoscope Gems Based on Birthstones

Horoscope gems are given to individuals based on the month of their birth or their zodiac.

Initially, each month has its individual stones but the advent of Gregorian calendar offset the arrangement and we are now left with several options to get assigned birthstones.

They are modern birthstone gems, traditional birthstones and also mystical birthstones.

In the USA, modern birthstones were agreed upon in 1912 by American National Association of Jewelers. An official list was drawn and the table is given below.

In addition, Indian Vedic astrology (Jyotish), gems are assigned to correspond to the planets, rather than the zodiac sign. Ancient cultures such as the Gypsies, the Arabs, Hebrew, Italian, Hindu, Polish, Roman and Russian also have their own versions of birthstones based on horoscope gems.

No single stone is composed of the energy of one single sign or planet. Therefore, you may wear stones other than your assigned horoscope gems. For best results, however, a consultation with a certified and honest gemologist is recommended.

On a more practical side, knowing horoscope gems enable you to pick a type of gems for your loved one as a gift for her birthday or other special occasions. It is a thoughtful gesture that will be cherished and remembered well.
