A Glitzy Event to launch Nostalgic Penang Journal

The Night of Nostalgia was an apt theme to launch the book "Nostalgic Penang Journal". It was held in 2007 at the E&O Hotel.

Everyone listed on the "Who's Who" was invited together with other dignitaries, luminaries and individuals who were passionate about anything Penang.

The guests of honor were Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir (she's an activist for the wellbeing of AIDS sufferers in this country, besides being the daughter of the former Prime Minister, Tun. Dr. Mahathir Mohamad) and the newly appointed Chief Minister of Penang, Mr. Lim Guan Eng.

The main purpose of the event, besides promoting the book was to raise funds for various charity causes. It was very good to know that RM96,000.00 was successfully collected on that night.

The ballroom at the E&O hotel was beautifully decorated, with paper umbrellas hung at the ceiling, the atmosphere was very festive and elegant. Everyone dressed up to the nines with traditional clothes of kebaya, cheong sam and saree as well as some vintage Western 1920's styles.

Besides promoting and launching the book, Tze and her team also came up with creative gift baskets that contained "Nyonya Beauty Secrets" and "Nyonya Remedies". These gift sets would be perfect for participants of MICE held in the state, tourists or dignitaries who come for official visits.
