Penang International Conference

Penang International Conference on Sustainable Cultural Development was held at G Hotel in Penang on 8th-9th October 2009.

The purpose was to get more insight and ideas from peers and international community on how to sustain this heritage site so that it would remain as one.

This event was organized by Penang Development Corporation, Invest Penang and MPPP.

What are the challenges that Penang will face as a UNESCO World Heritage Site? What are the urgent steps required in order to create awareness among the community, as well as balancing the needs of development to be on par with this heritage status?

Panel speakers were invited from around the region to present their opinion and also case studies.
